I have Mockingjay in my possession.  I am not reading it through supreme force of will.  I have bought it as a gift for my sister, whose birthday is in two days.  Still, that would not normally be enough to stop me from reading it anyway, but I know that I will be receiving my own copy for my birthday.  But god the waiting!

I am coping by reading fic.  I just re-read the awesome BSG/Hunger Games crossover Fight the Break of Dawn (which, by the way rayruz , could really do with a prequel...or a sequel...I just want more of it really).  And now I am reading a BSG/T:SCC fic on ffn.  Have I mentioned lately how much I love crossovers?  I love crossovers.  I wish I knew of a good place on LJ to read and post crossover fics.  

Other things...uh, I signed up for this song ficathon thing.  Pretty sure I'm going to be writing BSG ficlets for "Strict Joy" by The Swell Season.  Although this Vienna Teng album I just bought is awfully tempting. 

Gosh, I don't have anything else to report.  I've been around...reading lots, although I haven't been posting much.  Real life has been too distracting.

Crossovers rock.

I've no idea if it will run again this year, but if it does, you should check out xover_exchange. (BSG was one of the qualifying fandoms last year. I don't think anyone ended up writing it, but there's always hope for next time.)

Thanks for the heads-up about the comms, especially crossoverfic (I'll definitely start watching that one). Although I think what I really want...is a comm dedicated to BSG crossovers, or sci-fi crossovers (or just crossovers of things that I like) a la Twisting the Hellmouth. But in the meantime, I will make do. :P

Yeah, that's the problem. Most of the stuff that shows up on those comms comes from fandoms I don't know or have little interest in. I haven't found a good way to filter to just the things I'm interested in either. That's the advantage of xover_exchange, though--you can request a story in the fandoms you want to see.
