Light at the end of the tunnel

This is completely out of the blue and may not interest you at all, but I wanted to share the incredible news--I'm not angry about BSG anymore!  I mean yeah, I'm still uber-critical of seasons 3 and 4 and that whole destiny thing, but that's okay.  I'm uber-critical of lots of things that I love (*coughdoctorwhocough*).  But in recent weeks, I have been filled with an overwhelming desire to rewatch EVERYTHING.  I think it all started when I read RDM's show bible and caught a case of nostalgia.  Even more than that, though, I am just filled with incredible affection for this show.  You know how I know?  Because a few weeks back, I read this list of the Top 50 Science Fiction Television Shows of All Time and I actually agreed with their assessment of BSG!  (Not that I agree with that list in its entirety--for one thing, Farscape is shockingly absent)

Anyway, yeah, just wanted to share.  I'm over my finale rage!  Two years after the fact.  Yay me.  I might even, dare I say it, be getting my squee back.  

P.S. I cannot wait for bsg_remix  to start posting!

Hee! Yeah, I'm at that place now too. I think I've just remembered how much I loved the show and the characters, and even more, the fandom and all the friends I made through the show.

(And I'm excited about the remix fics too! Squee! I sent mine in ON TIME which is kind of new for me :P)

I'm at that place now too. I think I've just remembered how much I loved the show and the characters, and even more, the fandom and all the friends I made through the show.
It's a very nice place. Between this and the ever-approaching April 17, I've been feeling pretty good about fandom.

\o/ My squee took a very brief vacation right after the finale, but other than that it's been pretty much inextinguishable! I'm so excited you might be "getting your groove back"!

YAY for no more rage!! I have acutely felt the pain of pilots for a long time now. My recent re-mix somehow healed a lot of that for me and I am very surprised! Funny how that works!

Anyway, I am so glad that you are no longer angry about it, because, frankly, that is a crappy place to hang your hat. ;) I try to keep myself in the squee because it feels warm and happy there and I can make my own canon. I won't really every accept a lot of canon and the missed opportunities of pilots, but I can tolerate it a bit more than I used to.

Yay for BSD squee!! You know, I feel exactly the same. I think I've reached a place where I am ok with the show (and k/l) and I am not angry/sad/upset anymore. I just feel this deep love for BSG that, I am pretty sure, will never die.

I still find it weird to think of myself as a fandom veteran, though I suppose watching any of the seasons in real time is enough to qualify for that now. I haven't really been angry for a long time, but I just had this pseudo-epiphany the other day. I still love my show!
