Kara Thrace fic recs

Yes, it is time to celebrate our girl!  (Well, it's always time to celebrate her in my book)

I have gathered, um, a few of my favorite Kara fics.  This is by no means all of the great Kara fic out there.  It's mostly the great Kara fic that I have bookmarked, hence easy access to the links.  Feel free to comment with any Kara fic you think should also be on this list!  But first, I shall point you in the direction of this list by daybreak777 from 2007.  Now, here are a few of my favorite fics that aren’t on this list.  I’m trying for gen, or fics that are at least more about Kara than a ship.  Also preferably from Kara's perspective.  That said, you all know my tendency towards Kara/Lee, so I couldn’t keep him out of here. 

Icarus by wisteria_  (5/5, R)
Summary: If it was all just her insanity, then at least she was the one calling the shots. And if was right – that she was Aurora – then she'd live again.

Thea Soteira, Thea Apollousa (1/1, PG-13) by having_written 
Summary: Ten moments in the life of Kara Thrace (set pre-mini).

Fast Friends (1/1, G) by becisvolatile 
Summary: She didn’t like Karl C. Agathon. Not at first.

Intra (1/1, Adults Only) by svilleficrecs 
Summary: Her body is more complicated when she's near him.

The Art of Making Friends (1/1, PG) by suffolkgirl 
Summary: Kara makes some new friends at Fleet Academy...which involves triad games, drinking, pyramid and vandalism to pencils.

Wet Hot Caprican Summer by lint138 
Summary: She's fifteen, has a bad attitude, and a mouthful of metal.

Soft Spot (1/1, PG) by em_meredith 
Summary: "Now that you're going to have a kid, will you be...?" K/L.

Eleusis (1/1, PG-13) by mercurial_wit 
Summary: Persephone never stayed still.

Happy Hour (1/1, not rated but I’ll call it PG) by taragel 
Summary: Set on New Caprica, between seasons 2 and 3. Kara and Laura get drunk on a bottle of ambrosia and get nostalgic and regretful and angsty.

Note: This is from Laura's POV, but good fic involving Kara and the other women on this show is so rare that I have to include it.

Hellfire (1/1, PG-13) by resolute 
Summary: Kara Thrace is a child on Caprica, and finds a comic book in the library.

Note: This is Kara as a child fic, so if you don’t want to read about child abuse, you should look away.  But it is beautiful and sad and really fits with what we see of Socrata in Maelstrom.  It also involves X-Men, in that Kara is reading the comics.  But you don’t need to be familiar with that fandom to read this.

Five Seasons in Caprica City (1/1, T/PG-13) by KNS
Summary: Thrace has seen Caprica City in every season.
