I love how you captured that warm and comforting feeling between them, the fact that they need to take care of each other. It's even better knowing where this fits in with canon, they've only just reconciled and we all know where that reconciliation is heading.
I got both deleted scene references, and liked how it added to that private connection between them. I'm not sure the paper chewing scene was ever filmed but if it's out there somewhere I hope we get to see it one day.
