Day 12. An episode you’ve watched more than 5 times
Even as I type this, I am not sure what to say for it. There are A LOT of episodes that I have watched more than 5 times. Like almost every episode of Buffy, Firefly, and Wonderfalls. I've already talked about Objects in Space, and my favorite episode of BtVS. So here's an episode of BSG that I've seen more than 5 times (and I don't rewatch Battlestar a lot, so that's a feat).
I love this episode. I wouldn't say that it's my favorite, but it is an example of when BSG had this perfect, magical blend of character and plot, of personal and professional. I love the way plot, in this episode, is driven principally by the characters' motivations and interactions. I love that it is such a wonderful example of the conflict they face between their own desires and the needs of the Fleet. I love that my girl saves herself, but the Adamas did their best to help her. I love that Lee recognizes her flying and that he yells at the Chief and almost cries on the phone with the President. I love that Kara doesn't waver, and doesn't give in to her fear. I love that she's still smiling and laughing even while she's literally in the belly of the beast. And I absolutely love that she only allows herself to break when Adama can't see her.
Also, through various circumstances, I have it on my computer. I was watching season 1 on Netflix, and after Act of Contrition I couldn't wait however many days for the next disc to arrive. So I shilled out 1.99 and bought the episode from iTunes. So, on occasion, when I had my computer but no internet, I would say "what the hell" and watch YCGHA. Because I love it. Even if I fast forward through the Helo/Sharon stuff.
Day 13. Favorite childhood show
Because I'm incapable of choosing between these two:
This combination probably makes me a strange person, but I loved them both for different reasons. The Simpsons was a staple in my house. My entire family watched this show religiously for most of my childhood. The X-Files was just me and my dad, and I was a little bit in love with the show from ages 10-12, or something like that. Then the show started to suck, and then it ended. Also I discovered Buffy and didn't really have room for other obsessions. But I still love you, X-Files! Even if I haven't seen every single episode and don't know any of their titles anyway (except for 'Bad Blood' and 'Jose Chung's From Outer Space').
