Doctor Who: Cold Blood
I didn't like this episode.  All of the characters except for the main three were annoying me.  Grrr.  It just felt rather tedious.

Also, I was spoiled.  I hate being spoiled!  Why do people have to post things like "FUCK YOU DOCTOR WHO!" as their Facebook status when the episode has only just aired in the UK and we are on the other side of the Atlantic?  As soon as I saw that, at some point in the afternoon, I was like "Oh crap, Rory's going to die."  Simple math.  And that in and of itself is not very surprising.  I mean, Rory couldn't stick around.  It just wasn't going to happen.  But still...I liked him.  Damn.

But it's okay.  I think he's coming back.  And I don't really have strong reasons, but...well...1) We don't know what it really means to be pulled into the crack, as we have seen Prisoner Zero come out of it without being unwritten.  2) The engagement ring is still here.  3) Why is Future!Amy standing on that hill, waving at herself?  I doubt she just did that for fun.  4) Amy has to remember.  It's sort of a theme.  And as my sister pointed, 5) If Rory is just gone at such an early point--and Amy doesn't even remember him--it completely negates his role on the show.  There will have been no point for him to have existed as a character if Amy doesn't at least remember him.  This can't be over.

And on the subject of remembering, my friend told me this theory a couple of weeks ago, regarding "Flesh & Stone" and I have adopted this theory as my own (I wish I could take credit for it) because I love it to a million pieces.  There is a scene in that episode that is very, very interesting and, I suspect, very, very important.  When Amy has her eyes closed, and she's pleading with the Doctor not to just leave her there, he pats her on the head and walks off.  Then the camera focuses on her hands as she wrings them in her lap.  His hands suddenly close over hers and he leans into the frame.  We can just make out that he's wearing his jacket--the same jacket which he had earlier lost when the angels grabbed him.  He's wearing his jacket and he tells her that she has to trust him.  Then he asks her to remember something he told her when she was a little girl, but trails off, frustrated, almost as though he can't remember or that's not right or he can't tell her for some reason.  "You have to remember," he says.  Then he kisses her on the forehead and exits the frame (still close up on her).  She calls out for him, but there's no response.  We cut immediately to the Doctor walking along with River Song and Octavian.  He's not wearing his jacket.  So the theory is that the "You have to remember" scene is with a Doctor from another point in time.  That he comes back and tells her this for whatever reason.  But it's pivotal that Amy remember.

Also, my sister thinks that the Daleks and the Cybermen have been sucked into the crack, since nobody remembers them.

On a lighter note, I am now in possession of a knitted sonic screwdriver.  Yes I am.  My friend made it for me, and it is every bit as awesome as you can imagine.

And now, how about some useless fangirling?
Day 14. Favorite male character

I actually couldn't think of many contenders for this category.  There are lots of male characters that I love, but few of them really stand out without their ensemble.  I thought about the Doctor, but I feel bad calling him a favorite when I have only seen 3 of his 11 selves.  Plus, I don't know...he hasn't quite earned that 'favorite' status.  So my answer: Malcolm Reynolds.

Now, I have no idea who made that image (got it from google) but isn't it wondrous?  Captain Reynolds.  Mal.  I loved you ever since you said "I just wanted you to face me so she could get behind you."  I love that you're mean.  I love that you're totally fine with having Zoe fight (and win) your battles.  I love that every Unification Day sees you fancying a drink in an Alliance-friendly bar.  I love that you may have been on the losing side, but you're not convinced it was the wrong side.  I love that Simon's on your crew and you don't know why you're still talking about this.  And, you know, I love your pretty floral bonnet.

Day 15. Favorite female character

This should be obvious.  Do I even need to say it?  Kara Thrace, you have consumed my attention ever since I watched you jogging through the corridors in the miniseries.  Since I have already expounded on my insane Kara love many times, I will just share a brief conversation that took place between me and my sister yesterday, as we perused EW's top 100 characters.

Sister: Oh look, it's Starbuck.  72.  Damn, that means Edward Cullen beat her.
Me: What?  Are you serious?  Well she's my No. 1.
Sister: ...Really?
Me: Um.  Yes.  Don't judge me.

ETA: I also realized that I wanted to say something about the "Dream On" episode of Glee, which only occurred to me the other day.  Puck's dream is, apparently, to have a threesome.  But...Puck's been hooking up with Santana.  So why doesn't he just have a threesome with her and Brittany?  They both seem willing.  I think that his dream, like Rachel's, is an inevitability.
