Um, hi, so I feel that my life has been very interesting for once, and it's only slightly unfortunate that all this exciting stuff is happening while I'm wading through finals.  But anyway, I'm going to blather on about my life for a bit, feel free to skip down to the fandom stuff.

So...I'll start with Wednesday.  Left campus in the morning, took a train down to Philly (which took about 6 hours, all told) where I met up with two friends who I hadn't seen since spring break, so that was awesome.  And then one of my friends went back to her college, and my other friend and I went to see EDDIE IZZARD.  OMG AMAZING I'M IN LOVE WITH THAT MAN.  If anyone on my flist has not been introduced to the wonder that is Eddie Izzard, youtube/rent that.  right now.  ("Dress to Kill" is an excellent starting point).  Anyway, the next morning I headed back to campus and wrote a 7-page paper on the train (woohoo!) and then ran around campus frantically in search of a working printer (the campus printing system chose the time my paper was due to go crazy.  Thanks, VPrint) and eventually got it printed and handed in and all that.  And then I completely failed to do my research for my research paper that was due on Friday, and I didn't even watch Lost (still haven't).  But on Friday I wrote said research paper (and did the research for it simultaneously) in about 6 hours.  At one point, around noon on Friday I believe, I wrote a very frantic rant about my papers with a lot of caps lock and some language that is not suitable for polite conversation.  So anyway, if you're reading this now, just think at least I didn't spam you on Friday with my panicking!

Anyway, I then went to the grocery store and bought a ton of food, which was perhaps unwise as I'm only going to be here for about ten more days, and I have waaaayyy too many dining hall points.  (If I'm so sick of the dining hall food at the end of one year, I do worry about how I'm going to avoid going crazy over the next three years).  I'm really fascinated by small things (don't ask) and we found this miniature Ben&Jerry's things that were adorable and awesome so of course we bought one each.  Unfortunately, the problem with miniature foodstuffs is that they're gone very quickly.

And this morning (Saturday morning...I realize it's Sunday now...) I went into NYC with some friends and we saw Altar Boyz which is quite amusing; I recommend it.  And I spent too much money on CDs and food and the like, and then, oh, excitingness!  This is actually the interesting part, I promise!  We were in a Starbucks around Times Square, and my friend starts freaking out because she sees two actors from West Wing.

"It's Bradley Whitford and Mary McCormack!" she says.

I have never watched the West Wing, so I don't know who they are.  But I have watched Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and then Bradley Whitford turns around and I grab my friend and start shrieking "OMG IT'S DANNY!" (only quiet-like, 'cause he's five feet away from me and I don't want to be that crazy person).  And then he and Mary McCormack leave the Starbucks, and I immediately text three of my friends who are obsessed with Studio 60 and West Wing and one of them calls me back immediately.

Lily: Are you serious?
Me: Five feet!  I was five feet away from him!
and we jabber about that for a bit, and then we hang up, and then my two friends and I return to walking around Times Square and as we're wading through the crowds, someone grabs my shoulder and I turn around and there are Lily's parents, right there.  Keep in mind, that we (Lily's family, and mine) don't live in NY, and I just got off the phone with her so this all seems highly unusual.  And so after talking to her parents for a bit, we go our separate ways, and then I text Lily to tell her that I just saw her parents and she replies that she just saw my sister...in her dorm at college.  Lily's dorm, not my sister's; my sister was apparently visiting some friends there.  Anyway, it was craziness.

Ok, there's the story about my life, except that I'm still neglecting the research paper that's due on Monday but pshaw.   I totally got back to campus and elected to watch Battlestar instead of researching.  Of course, I have excellent priorities.

OMG 'FAITH' WAS ASTONISHING!

Ok, so I liked absolutely everything about this episode except for one scene: the scene in which Gaeta and Helo, two fantastic characters, have that unbelievably cliched "don't let him take my leg!" talk.  As soon as Gaeta uttered that fateful line, I was like "Is he serious?  He's going to start laughing soon, right?  Because this is a joke?  A spoof?  They can't actually be having this conversation?!"  I don't care if it was relevant.  I could not take it seriously.

Other things of note...I didn't recognize Jean Barolay at first, and Battlestar is developing this nasty habit of killing off side characters just as soon as I figure out who they are.  At first, when Jean boarded the Raptor, I was all "Cool, random Kara fangirl," and liking her because she said that Kara has been "kicking ass from day one."  And then I was a little confused because I didn't think she was a pilot but she was wearing a flightsuit...and then she was dead, OMG!  I do hope we see Sam properly mourning though, because she's been with him forever.  There's a reason they're randomly paired together so often in fanfiction.

Kara finding out about the harbinger thing!  The blank stare of doom!  AHHHH!  But actually, mental rewind to when they were in the Raptor and she said that she could hear the music, and then she saw the basestar/comet and she was practically radiant.  It made me sooooo happy; I can't even articulate how happy it made me (very).  But anyway, this harbinger of death thing seems a lot less optimistic than the end of humanity thing, which I know many people (myself included) were thinking could mean something other than death, doom, and destruction.

Roslin's storyline.  Wow.  Once again, all I can say is that Mary McDonnell rules.  Oh, and that I like seeing Tory at work as her aide, because then I can live in denial about how far she has fallen.
Adama was back!  For like 3 minutes!

Oh, and Sam!  Can't forget Sam.  Actually...I don't know what to say about him, except that I was really interested in him this episode.  When he said "I'm here" to the dying Sharon?  Awesome.

Oh, and the Sharons.  I was amused when they all appeared to Athena outside the Raptor, because it so mirrored the Boomer KLG scene, except they weren't all naked.  Because the writers clearly realized how idiotic that was.
