Eh, you know.  Because I can.  But first, a quick question for my flist, inspired by the song I am listening to right now: if I were to buy just one season of Bear McCreary's BSG soundtracks, which would you recommend? I only have one song right now. It is 'Kara Remembers' from Someone to Watch Over Me and I downloaded to help me write certain scenes in The Breath Between.

Community: You know I love this show.  Also I want to use my new icon as much as possible.  After the pure AMAZINGNESS of Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking (so amazing), Intro to Political Science wasn't quite as good.  Mostly because I'm not that into Jeff/Annie?  Or Jeff/shipping at all?  I genuinely like every character and I just want them all to be friends.  Plus, I fear that any ship within the group (except for, of course, Troy/Abed) runs the risk of sort of subsuming the awesome?  Especially a Jeff ship.  Since the primary Jeff ships are Britta and Annie, it just seems so predictable.  Yaaaay pretty white people.  I like this show best when it's defying convention and expectation, like in the beginning of the second season when Britta and Annie decided that Jeff was gross.  Yay!

But anyway, thinking positive: I loved Troy and Abed and their TV show (with the awesome tickers and breakdown of each of the candidates), and Abed's quasi-romance.  I loved Jeff's Real World audition tape, and Britta's awesomely awkward anarchist moment.  I only wish that when Troy had said Leonard vs. Magnitude was the political showdown of the century, it actually had been.  Come on, how hilarious would that have been?  Very hilarious.

Parks and Recreation: Along with Community, this show is my weekly dose of tv-that-makes-me-happy.  Just love it.  I finally caught up on all previous seasons, and yaaaaay so much love!  Also I just watched Aziz Ansari's stand-up DVD and it's most excellent.  Anyway, my one wish for Parks & Rec: MORE DONNA AND JERRY.  I really, really like them both.  A lot.  I may be in the minority.

Chuck: I have been kind of off Chuck lately?  I'm two weeks behind, I think.  I almost gave up on it, but then I watched the ep with the proposal and it was so wonderful that I had to come back.  I had very mixed feelings about the CAT Squad episode though.  On the one hand: yay female friendships and SARAH AND ELLIE TALKING AND BEING FRIENDS AND FINALLY PASSING THE BECHDEL TEST.  On the other hand, I hated all the "cat" jokes, and yes, especially That One.  You know, the punchline.  A) I hate that word, and B) way to be not funny.

Farscape: I haven't watched Farscape in aaaages (no time!) but I thought I'd throw this in here.  Because somewhere around the end of season 2, I think, I became seriously hooked on this show.  I think that the last time I posted about it, I was very much on the fence.  Well, no more!  I am 100% a fan of Farscape.  I haven't finished season three yet (I'm on the last disc though!) so no spoilers please.  Favorite character is, shocker, Aeryn Sun.  I like John and Chiana too.  Surprisingly, I've become quite fond of Rigel.  No love for Jewel (and I can't help seeing her as a poor substitute for Zhaan) or D'Argo.

Also I have seen the new Game of Thrones preview and IT LOOKS SO BEYOND AMAZING.  That is all.

Oh yeah, and I have been rewatching The Education of Max Bickford.  I don't know what it is about this show (besides, you know, the Sackhoff element) that inspires me to rewatch it annually.  Someday I will write a big post about it.  But not this day.

I watched the Oscars too, of course.  I always do, even though they're not actually that interesting.  But this year I was just sad that my beloved True Grit got robbed.  I mean, I liked The King's Speech.  And I loved Colin Firth's acceptance speech.  That award was well deserved.  But I am sort of fundamentally apathetic about the British monarchy.  It's not like he wrote the speech, you know.   Yeah yeah, not the point, whatever.  I wasn't surprised, just a little disappointed.
