In honor of Andy Hallet's passing, I recently decided to rewatch the second season of Angel (because I only have the first two on DVD, and Lorne's not in the first one). For all my Whedon love, I never really got into Angel. I watched it, but the first two seasons were my favorites, and there are still many episodes in season 2 that I have only ever seen once. So I guess it's about time for a rewatch, many years later, and it's just sad that Andy Hallet is gone (and he was so damn young--I can't believe he was only 23 when Angel started) and now I look at Lorne (one of my favorite characters) and I just want to hug him.
Anyway, I have rewatched the first two episodes of this season (Judgment and Are You Now or Have You Ever Been) and I realized that I had forgotten how good this show was. But I had not forgotten that I never liked Lindsey and wished he hadn't hung around so long. This show is still not one of my favorites (I resent what the writers did to my three favorite characters: Lorne, Gunn, and Fred) and I don't think very highly of seasons 3-5, but I am starting to see how people could prefer it to Buffy. In a strange way, I think that if I had been older when the two shows were airing, I might have preferred Angel since it is the more "grown-up" show (or maybe not).
I'm also running Dollhouse on Hulu in another window with the sound turned off because I'm told that me and my brand new hulu account will be counted.
I am also now caught up on Chuck, Lost, and Dollhouse! I greatly enjoyed all of them. I love Casey. And Hurley. Miles is pretty cool too.
( Dollhouse 1.10 spoilers )
