I'm a little behind with the online stuff.  Why?  Because I've been caught up in the invasion of my nation's capital.  I went on Sunday to the Lincoln Memorial for the concert, and I've just returned from You Know What.  Both were awesome.  I'm so glad I went.  It was chaotic, as this city is just not built for such an influx of people (especially people who don't know the Capitol from the White House, or those who think the National Mall is a shopping center).  It was chaotic, but so wonderful.  Anyway, I just kind of want to tell everyone I know that I was there.  And my feet hurt.  I may write up some sort of account of my day at some point but I am too tired at the moment.

Aw, yay for you! What a fantastic thing that you can say you were there.

It was pretty fantastic! I mean, there was some frustration and I was basically watching it on a big screen (but with a somewhat restricted view, as I am quite short) but just being present felt pretty damn awesome.

I'm feeling positively giddy right now (and jealous that you were there; my husband and I were thinking of flying to DC for the occasion but we both start teaching tomorrow... so it just wasn't going to be). This is a great moment, and I'm rejoicing that I've been given the opportunity to live through it. I can't even imagine the electricity that must be in the DC air right now...

The giddiness is not wearing off anytime soon! I left DC yesterday, so I can't speak for the aftermath, but in the weeks leading up to the election it was all anybody could talk about!

Your icon is lovely, btw.

Wow. That must have been immense and amazing. And cold. :-) Rest those feet!

Yay yes it was pretty amazing! Although not as cold as I thought it would be--although I was wearing more layers than I've ever worn in my life! Also I wasn't out there before 7 am like some people, so the sun was warming me up.

I know its been a day but I still can't believe it. It seems so surreal to me still. I live in MD but our assembly is in session and since I work for them, I couldn't get off. But our entire office watched it together, it was a moment. This morning I went and collected newspaper for my scrapbook. WOW, we just witnessed history.

Sorry your feet hurt. *hugs*

Aw, that's too bad you had to work! But watching it together was probably a lot of fun. And I live in MD too! Well, for part of the year.

That's cool to know another BSG fan lives in the same coast as me let alone the same state. Awesome

Aw, were you watching from the west coast? This week I've been feeling very grateful I live near DC.

Oh man, I am so envious. I was stuck in Massachusetts watching the inauguration on a tiny tv in a room with 10 people.
