shah_of_blahSo. Yes. Instead of doing the many things I need to be doing, I watched BSG, and now I am posting my rambly thoughts. In general, i think twas a very good episode, but I have some issues.
In other news, I’m officially not watching the promos for upcoming episodes, so we’ll see how long I manage to remain spoiler free. It worked for this week though!
In other other news, some person named Robin D. Moore is speaking at my college, and when I got the email with the upcoming events, I did a double-take at that name. I don’t know who Robin D. Moore is, but that’s just eery. BSG is following me, I swear.
Oh, and I'm confused about something. Specialist Cally--Cally is her first name. And then we have Specialist Jammer, when Jammer is clearly not his name. And Specialist Socinus. And Prosna. I refuse to believe these are first names. So what, is Cally just special because they didn't give her a last name until now? And Jammer?

-Tory, you are messed up. I want you to get less messed up. The scene with Baltar was a little bit funny though.
-bus driver/bicycle was amusing and then HOLY SHIT that looked bad. Nobody got hurt? Seriously? I don't believe you. I understand if you don't want to kill Racetrack and Skulls, but they could've at least gone to sickbay.
-Gaius’s attack on the old gods was funny. Zeus = serial rapist! Woohoo religious intolerance!
-Roslin’s new hair? Couldn’t she have gotten a better wig?
-"This whole thing will become our responsibility." Yeah, because you’re the President and the Admiral! Seriously. Her description of the groupies was funny. And true. Why doesn't Gaius have more male fans? And as for the Roslin/Gaius brig scene, all I can say is: she’s still badass.
-I loved the Chief/Adama scene. Except that I also love my Chief and I want him to get his act together. And then I was a little disturbed by some of the way he talked about Cally. Hello, Show, you made your bed, and now you have to lie in it. Your bed said that Chief loved Cally, or at least genuinely cared for her. So even though I hated their relationship and thought it was all kinds of squick, I do hope you’re not going to say from now on that Chief only married Cally because Boomer was a Cylon. Okay to say that maybe he settled because the one he loved best was lost, but not okay to make it sound as though he hates Cally. So. For now, I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt because Chief is all kinds of messed up, but Show? Try to avoid internal contradictions.
-"You should be terrified of what this man will do with blind religious devotion." She’s got a point.
-Why does Caprica Six still have lip gloss? I can't really muster intelligent commentary about any of her scenes, as I was intensely creeped out.
-Ooh, it’s the guard with the lovely eyes! I hope I wasn't the only one thinking that.
-Lee pulling his tie out of Gaius’s hands was awesome. Lee's hair looks weird though.
-I’m squicked out by all the Six/Tigh stuff. Not least of which because his socket is gross.
-I’m actually liking where they’re going with Gaius now. I mean, he’s still all kinds of a bastard, but I like him getting back to his roots of being an egotistical, slightly insane, and oddly charismatic bastard.
-Dude, I need me more Kara than that! Seriously. You brought her back from the dead just to not have her in the episodes? Not cool, Show. I mean, yeah, objectively, I think this was a good episode and it probably wouldn’t have been if there had been another storyline, but I could’ve done without the Tigh/Six stuff, or that could certainly have been cut down. Because I was checking my email during one of their scenes and that’s a bad sign. And anyway, KARA! I was getting worried after like 5 minutes and no Demetrius but Michael Trucco’s name was in the guest stars list, so I was reassured. But then as we hit the 40 minute mark I had given up hope and then BAM! I stopped checking my email for that. She appears to be holding the Aurora figurine in her sleep, which, um, Adama gave it back to her? Interesting. And was it just me or was it implied that Sam was considering coming clean to her? Except then she might, you know, shoot him, and there’d be no more Michael Trucco, so I’m sure it’s going to be more complicated than that. But still. Also, everyone’s talking about faith, and I’m waiting for Kara to get into the argument, because she believes in the gods even more than Roslin, I think. Roslin may believe in her Pythia stuff, but she didn’t know much about Scripture before the visions started. So my wanting more Kara screentime is not just because I'm madly in love with her. Really.

I really failed to see any point to that but to show that Tigh is still loosing it... and Six looked way to gleeful beating the crap out of her...
