half of what i say is meaningless

I love books.  I'm an English major, which really wouldn't be possible if I didn't have a great love of literature.  I saw this meme about reading and couldn't help myself!

This meme is long, but who doesn't want to read all about books?  Also for all of the questions where they asked for a favorite, as in singular, I usually put at least two.  Oops.  Snagged from taragel  and queenofthorns .

Sidenote: Ursula K. LeGuin has the absolute best name for any author, let alone an author of spec fiction.  And it’s her real name!  Incredible.

So somebody (sorry, don't remember who) recently posted a list of their favorite BSG moments, and when I asked myself what was my all-time favorite moment, I was a little surprised by my automatic response.

Kara Thrace (of course) whacking some random guy WITH HER CANE in Colonial Day.
Not any of the big speeches, not any retina-detaching maneuver, not even anything from Unfinished Business.  Colonial Day, beating the guy with her cane.  I can't even properly articulate why I love this moment so much, but it's one of the few things that my sister and I were equally excited about when she joined me for my rewatching of seasons 1-2 over winter break.  Like we sat there for everything leading up to that moment going "the cane!  hit him with the cane!  YES!"

So after I reminisced about Kara and her cane (it's alliteration, but not) I started thinking about what else would be on my list of favorite moments.

Battlestar's coming in three days (THREE DAYS!  Imagine that in the "Steve Holt!" voice).  It finally feels like spring outside.  I am one of the few people who did not fall victim to the April Fool's Day toothbrush-theft.  I am happy.
